Six House of Representatives members from Delta State have formerly defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This came days after the governor of the state, Sheriff Oborevwori and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa announced their defection and that of their supporters from the PDP to the APC.
The lawmakers’ defection was made public by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas during plenary.
They included Rep. Victor Nwokolo, Rep. Julius Pondi, Rep. Thomas Ereyitomi, Rep. Nicholas Mutual, Rep. Ukodhiko Jonathan, and Rep. Nnamdi Ezechi.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party lawmaker from Enugu State dumped the party for the PDP.
They are Rep. Mark Obetta and Rep. Denis Nnamdi.
The lawmakers gave unresolved party crises and parallel leadership in the state as reasons for their decision.
