VIDEO: UNN lecturer filmed allegedly extorting N16,000 cash from each student

Nigerians on social media are dragging a staff member of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, after he was captured on camera collecting the sum of N16,000 from students.

The unidentified male staff member is said to be of the faculty of agriculture.

A voice in the video alleged that the staff member only collects cash, an indication that the money is illegal.

“Nigerians, you people should come to our help; this is the faculty of agriculture doing clearance, this man is collecting N16k from each student, N16,000 from thousands of students coming to do clearance for first years.

“People that don’t even have money are struggling to go to school.

“Some students are struggling to train themselves; I, personally, I’m struggling to train myself.

“He will tell you he doesn’t take transfer; if it is legal, the faculty is supposed to have an account,” the voice said, among other things.

The post has since gone viral, with angry reactions from Nigerians.

Meanwhile, neither the faculty of agriculture nor the UNN management has issued any comment on the matter.
