2027: Wike, Bode George, PDP govs doing hatchet job for Tinubu - APC chieftain, Eze

By

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has descended heavily on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; Bode George and some PDP Governors, accusing them of doing a hatchet job towards ensuring that President Bola Tinubu is re-elected in 2027.

Eze, a member of the APC Legacy Projects Media Committee, maintained that no matter whatever Wike thinks he is today, he knows he cannot fit into Atiku Abubakar's political portfolio.

He described as sad and unfortunate, the behaviour of Wike after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had vehemently refused to pick him as his Vice presidential candidate prior to the 2023 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday and made available to NATIONAL POST, Eze, the erstwhile spokesperson of the defunct nPDP, stated that the recent statements credited to Wike, Bode George and some PDP governors, were suggestive of the fact that they were subtly working for Tinubu to ensure his re-election in 2027 not minding the suffering Nigerians were currently going through.

He stated that he was not surprised that Wike was yet to overcome the shock of his dismal performance at the PDP presidential primaries, as well as his outright rejection by Atiku, in his choice of VP slot.

According him, "since Atiku demystified and deflated Wike's over bloated political ego, the FCT Minister has resorted to pouring invectives on Atiku, one of Africa's greatest democrats.

"If Atiku had chosen Wike as his Vice presidential candidate, the former Rivers State Governor would have done everything for Atiku to be elected President."

Eze revealed that what many failed to comprehend was that Atiku would not have been alive to serve out his term knowing the nature of deadly, devious and politics of bitterness that Wike is synonymous with.

"With such an uncultured fellow as the Vice President of Nigeria, what would have been the image of Nigeria?

"For Atiku to have listened to me and many other patriotic Nigerians in rejecting Wike as his vice president, he has done a great relief both to his life and that of Nigerians," Eze added.

He commended Atiku for letting Wike to know that he is a traitor working to undermine the PDP.

Wike, according to Eze, was bereft of moral authority to discuss integrity, calling him Traitor-General of Nigeria.

He added that, "rather than fidget over the move by Atiku to form a credible and formidable coalition, the Tinubu administration and Wike in particular should have tightened their loose belts and provide genuine democratic governance that will have direct impact on Nigerians and shore up the economy, and not making 2027, this administration's sole objective."

Reacting to the statement by elder statesman, Bode George, that PDP will be finally buried should Atiku pick the PDP presidential slot, Eze urged Nigerians to ignore the man, whom he said speaks from both sides of the mouth.

"As much as Nigerians are aware of the dirty type of politics that Bode George plays even at his age, he should tell Nigerians apart from Atiku, who else in PDP has a nationwide support base to wrestle power from a well coordinated figure like Tinubu.

"It is unfortunate that Bode George who ensured that PDP and Labour Party failed in Lagos and refused to support PDP during the 2023 general elections is out to replicate same dastardly role come 2027, to ensure that the woes facing Nigeria under a very confused administration are multiplied, but God will not allow him and his cohorts to succeed this time around," Eze stated.

Talking about the PDP Governors, Eze hinted that "their game plan is well known to ensure that either PDP doesn't present a presidential candidate come 2027 or if they decide to field anybody, they will ensure that such a candidate can't even win one Local Government area in the country."

The former spokesperson of nPDP claimed that with the way the APC had coerced many of the corrupt political leaders to join its fold in the party's ceaseless ruination of Nigeria, it becomes imperative for the opposition political parties to unite and form a formidable platform to wrestle power from the APC.

Eze insisted there was nothing absurd for Atiku to postulate that a coalition remains the only way to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

"The position of the PDP Governors’ Forum, chaired by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, that the party would not participate in any coalition or merger" depicts the high level of systemic corruption being perpetuated by those occupying leadership positions in the country.

"It is now obvious that the PDP Governors are not interested in mitigating the negative effects Nigerians are passing through as a result of bad policies of the present administration.

"Their preoccupation is accessing a window of opportunity for selfish bargains that will guarantee their re-election, not minding party affiliation.

"I ask the PDP Governors: if the opposition parties and blocs do not unite in principle and action, can the APC be dislodged out of power in 2027?

"The truth is that Nigerians are now more aware of the dirty and selfish style of politics being played by some opposition governors.

"The strategy of deliver me in my State and have my support at the Presidential election is in public domain," Eze said, advising that the PDP Governors must have a rethink.
